Michael Balian was born on February 12th in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky [101st Airborne Division - the "Screaming Eagles"]. From there he was raised in Michigan. After High School, Michael attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., majoring in International Affairs. After graduating from college, Michael attended The University of Detroit School of Law and was admitted to practice in Michigan and Washington, D.C. Michael has practiced law since his admission into the Bar Association.

Michael has always sought adventure. He has his pilot’s license. He has learned how to parachute, which he believes was a practical experience just in case something went wrong in flight. Michael has traveled extensively, both in the United States and around the World. Recently, he has climbed Kilimanjaro [where he raised money for the Lighthouse of Oakland County] and Mt. Ararat, which brought him to his historical roots of Armenia. Michael believes in showing his children that the only limits life has are those that you put on yourself and there is no bucket list but a life list.

Michael has always enjoyed politics, even running for Congress. His love for politics is probably based upon being born on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday in Kentucky, he developed a love for the man that saved the Union from collapse. Even taking his children on a Killing Lincoln Tour, showing them the final encampment of the Union forces, the final Battle of the Civil War to Ford’s Theater, even where Booth is buried in his family’s plot in Baltimore.

Michael has his set his first book, Deception of Lies, in Washington, D.C. The book details the life of Alex Westcott and the trouble he finds himself in after making some startling discoveries about our government. Each page makes you want to turn to the next.

Writing this book was a way to show his children that anything is possible. Michael has a book bank where he maintains his numerous ideas for stories. He is already finishing up his second novel, which will be available in the Fall.
